I graduated early in the Winter Class instead of the Summer due to my need to help my Mother and I had the credits for graduation.

My Mother passed away in l959 and with a brother, Randy, at the age of 6; I was called to make some changes in my life, all for the best. He was an outstanding student and graduated from SGHS l969 and Stanford University. He met and married his wife while at Stanford; she went on to become a Dr. and they have 3 great kids. He is a Business Director and Manager.

I started in the business world working in the financial field and attended College at night. In 1961 I joined United States Steel Corporation, working in the Treasury Department as a Financial Analyst. In l972 I was transferred to work in the San Francisco Treasury Department due to a Corporate reorganization closing the offices in Los Angeles.

The move to San Francisco opened many opportunities for me. I closed the last Treasury Office on the West Coast in l988, due to USX moving all their offices to Pittsburgh, PA and was given a Golden Handshake. After taking some time off, I became self-employed.

After being single for 53 years, in l991 I married Herb Huber, a General Contractor. We live in Redwood City, just south of San Francisco. We have a very full life and enjoy sailing, cruises and traveling with friends. This has been an exciting year as Herb realized a life dream to compete in the 2005 TRANSPAC RACE to Hawaii. It was a great experience for us. I met him in Hawaii for the parties and a vacation. Kay Riese Huber.....10/24/05
