I was born and raised in South Gate, Calif. I graduated from South Gate High in S'55. I married Edward Addington SGHS W'51] and lived in Downey. I worked for Shell Chemical Co. as a Secretary and Technical Transcriber for two chemists. I participated in Tea Room Fashion Modeling and was active on the Executive Board of the Downey Jr. Woman's Club.

We moved to Lancaster in the mid '60's. Ed worked as Sales Manager at "Endres Motors", my Father's Volkswagen and British Car Dealership. My interest was Real Estate. As a Realtor Associate, I attended USC extended campus for my Broker classes, however, I aspired in Philanthropic work. I was active in the A.V. Assistance League, Desert Alphas of the Children's Home Society, YMCA, and Chair Person for the Hi-Desert Kiwanianns. As President of the Lancaster Jr. Woman's Club, I was honored as Woman of the Year and received an Honorary Lifetime Membership.

I pledged Beta Sigma Phi and served as President of three Chapters of Progressing Degrees. I was honored as Woman of the Year and Valentine Queen numerous time. I was the reigning 2006-2007 Queen.

I have 3 very successful children and 4 grandchildren. They capture much of my time. One Daughter is a Teacher with her Masters in Education and Mother of 6' tall twin football players. She also is experienced in professional photography modeling. My other Daughter owns her own flourishing business. My Son is an Officer with the Sheriff's Department. Although Ed and my lives go in different directions', we have a common interest in our children.

My lifestyle is geared to the knowledge that there is work to be done. I set goals and contribute to each organization of which I belong. In 2007 I was a chosen finalist in the Antelope Valley "Senior Of The Year Award" Contest. My accomplishments are many. On a large scale, I have received recognition for service and leadership from the Congress of the United States, House of Representatives and the County of Los Angeles, Board of Supervisors.

I am retired, yet find myself involved with painting, music and outside interests. If you like, send a "Hello" RE:SGHS/Your Name.......................Thanks to Dave for allowing me to tell my story.   JoAnn
